What did scientists bury for the Ig Nobel soil prize?
They buried cotton underpants.
The Ig Nobels are the joke Nobel Prizes, and this year's soil prize went to scientists who got 1,000 people to bury undies in their gardens, fields and lawns. Two months later everyone dug them up. The more the undies had rotted, the healthier the soil.
Just 51% of players picked the underpants. We can't blame anyone for going with tea bags or banana skins. Those seem far more sensible!
How do you spell mischievous?
The correct spelling is mischievous, the word for playfully naughty.
This one tripped up more than half the room. Only 48% of players chose the right spelling, and honestly we get it. All four options look perfectly believable when they're sitting side by side.
The laser fires from the left wall. Which gem does it hit?
The laser hits gem G.
Every time the beam hits a mirror it turns a sharp corner and keeps going. It bounces 8 times on the way and even crosses its own trail once. 67% of players traced it all the way to the right gem, which is a great effort with that many corners to follow.
