Quiz 16 went from the bottom of the ocean to the Louvre. Its animal fact remains one of our most repeated.
How many hearts does an octopus have?
Three. Two branchial hearts pump blood through the gills to pick up oxygen, and one systemic heart sends it around the body. Bonus strangeness: the systemic heart stops when the octopus swims, which is one reason they prefer to crawl.
What is the longest river in Australia?
The Murray River, running roughly 2,500 kilometres from the Australian Alps to the sea in South Australia. It forms most of the NSW-Victoria border along the way and drains the basin that grows a huge share of the country's food.
Which museum is home to the Mona Lisa?
The Louvre in Paris. Leonardo da Vinci's small, smirking portrait sits behind bulletproof glass and a permanent crowd of phones. Most visitors are surprised by how tiny she actually is.
That was Quiz 16: three hearts, one long river and a small famous smile. A well-travelled fifteen questions.
