About 8 minutes and 20 seconds. Light covers the 150 million kilometres between the Sun and us at 300,000 kilometres per second, and it still needs the length of a school recess to arrive.

Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. It started life as a scientific acronym and became such an ordinary word that most people have no idea it stands for anything at all.
How do you tell the flags of Türkiye and Tunisia apart?
Have a look at the pair above. Both are red with a crescent and star, but in the quiz image Tunisia is on the left and Türkiye on the right. Tunisia puts its crescent and star inside a white circle; Türkiye's sit directly on the red, slightly off-centre.
