A brand new quiz every Thursday!

What does GPS stand for?

Quiz 27 was full of things we use every day and never think about. Exactly half the players could say what GPS actually stands for, and the humble dot over the letter i turned out to have a name almost nobody knew. The week averaged 11.7 out of 15.

What does GPS stand for?

Global Positioning System. It is a network of satellites that pinpoints where you are on Earth, and the reason mum can confidently say just follow the GPS.

Only 50% of players knew the full name. The other half navigate perfectly well without it, to be fair.

What is the dot over the letter i called?

It is called a tittle. Genuinely. The little dot over the lowercase i and j has had that name for centuries, and it is where the phrase to a T likely comes from.

50% of players picked it from the options, though we suspect a few educated guesses in there. A jottle and a dinkus were tempting decoys.

Which country has a flag with 14 red and white stripes?

Flag of Malaysia

Have a look at the flag above. It belongs to Malaysia. It is often mistaken for the American flag at a glance, but the crescent and star in the corner give it away.

77% of players got it, a great result. Geography was still the hardest topic of the week overall, so the flags training is clearly paying off.
