New Book Week Quiz!

Free for your school for the rest of Term 3

A fresh trivia quiz your whole class plays together, every Thursday. Ten minutes, zero prep, nothing to install and nothing to mark. Free until 25 September 2026. No credit card or payment details required.

Project the quiz, play it together

Fifteen questions every Thursday, easiest first. Nothing is graded, so even the kids who never volunteer have a go. It never feels like learning, which is exactly why it sticks. Run it whichever way suits your room:

  • On the board, together. Put the quiz up and work through it as a class. No student accounts at all, and it turns into a group discussion on its own.
  • Everyone on their own account. Students play at the same time and their scores build your class leaderboard. Student premium unlocks every past quiz for them too.
  • As homework. Set it for the week and let them play at home with the family. The leaderboard shows who has taken part, so it works as a participation exercise and nobody needs to sweat the score.

The full library, every quiz we have ever published, is ready for revision, wet weather lunch and relief lessons. Have a browse; a licence is what unlocks playing it.

A premium user’s stats page.
Setting up a class leaderboard. Creating one is teachers only; students join with your code, on a free or premium account.

Kids come back for the collection

Every quiz unlocks stickers, and kids chase them. It is the difference between a quiz your class does once and one they start asking for every Thursday.

Questions schools ask

  • Entirely up to how you want to run it. Three ways schools do it:

    • On the board, together. Put the quiz up and work through it as a class. No student accounts at all, and it turns into a group discussion on its own.
    • Everyone on their own account. Students play at the same time in class and their scores build your class leaderboard. Add Student Premium and they can play every past quiz too, not just this week’s.
    • As homework. Set it for the week and let them play it at home with the family.

The ball is in your court.

  • The quiz is ordered easiest to hardest, and the spread is the point. In a junior class the first ten are the sweet spot. In a senior class the last five are where the real fight is, and the sport and current events questions land well with teenagers. Plenty of adults play every week and do not get them all right. Upper primary and lower secondary is where most of our classroom teachers sit.

  • It is an add-on to whichever staff plan you are on, and it costs about the same again as the plan itself. No enrolment forms, no bands to work out:

    • Solo teacher, up to 30 students, add $99 a year
    • Team licence, up to 300 students, add $299 a year
    • Whole staff, unlimited students, add $499 a year

For context, a family at home pays $50 a year for one child. On the team licence that is 300 students for $299, about a dollar each for the whole year. Bought individually, the same access would run to $15,000.

It is entirely optional. Your students can already play the weekly quiz and compete on your class leaderboard for free, and plenty of schools start there. Premium is what unlocks the full quiz library, each kid’s own stats history and the exclusive content.

The Term 3 trial covers your teachers. Student premium is a paid add-on, so it is something to look at once your class has been playing for a few weeks.

To switch it on we need the students’ school email addresses, the same way we do for teachers.

  • Access simply lapses on 25 September 2026. We never take card details, so there is nothing to cancel and no surprise invoice. If your teachers want to keep it, we sort a licence for the office.

  • Yes, and they always could. The weekly quiz is free for everyone, every week, licence or not. What a school licence pays for is the quiz library and the extras, never the weekly quiz itself. Kids who play at home usually end up your most regular players in class.

  • Enormously. Kids Quiz Weekly is written fresh every single week, right here in Australia, with the week’s news baked in. There is nothing else quite like it. We have poured countless hours into building the platform, and school subscriptions are what push it forward: every licence goes straight into better questions, new features and keeping the weekly quiz free for every family and classroom that plays it.
